Rio Olympics presenter Dan Walker gets a kiss from bride-to-be after hen party invade BBC’s studio

BBC presenter Dan Walker proved to be a smooth operator – after inviting a rowdy Brazilian hen party onto his Olympic highlights show.

Sports journalist Walker was presenting the late-night show on Rio’s Copacabana when a boisterous hen do marched past.

And rather than let them carry down the iconic beach, he invited the bride onto the studio sofa for an impromptu chat.

Bride-to-be Maria waltzed in and shuffled up to the BBC‘s man – explaining she was getting married next month.

Professional Dan politely tried to end the quick chat, offering the hen a kiss on both cheeks and wishing her well with the wedding.

But Maria had no intention of leaving in a hurry.

Egged on by her raucous mates, she asks what TV channel she is on.

And when told BBC, she recoils in shock and rubs her fingers together to suggest Walker is rich.

Maria then turns conductor, telling viewers to watch the BBC before beginning a chant of “BBC, BBC!”

A sheepish walker says “This is lovely” before Maria adds: “I want to say something for my husband.”

In reply, the BBC presenter, 39, jokes: “I hope he’s watching BBC Four.”

He later confirmed he had been invited to the wedding, tweeting: “Guess what? Hen party Maria (De Cezar) has been in touch today… got an invite to the wedding!”

Popular Walker began his career at the Beeb as a sports reporter, working his way up to become the presenter of Football Focus.

He recently replaced Bill Turnbull as a presenter on BBC Breakfast.
