RIYAD MAHREZ did not link up with the Leicester squad for tonight’s Premier League clash with Everton, it has been claimed.
Mahrez is trying to push through a transfer deadline day move to Manchester City before the window closes tonight.
The Algerian winger has submitted a transfer request as he desperately fights to force his way out of the King Power Stadium today.
And the Telegraph say the 26-year-old was not with the Leicester squad when they reported for a light session ahead of tonight’s trip to Goodison Park.
It appears Mahrez will now be left out of the squad by Claude Puel, increasing the likelihood a move to the Eithad Stadium is inching closer.
Puel has made it clear in the past he values Mahrez at a minimum of £100million and had no intention of selling one of his best players.
But with the player now attempting to force his way out of the club, the Frenchman could be left with little choice but to cash in.
And in the short term, he could decide that even if no deal is agreed he does not want the player in his squad for the crucial game with Everton.

SunSport revealed yesterday how City had made a shock £60m move for the player who helped Leicester win the league title two years ago.
The injury to Leroy Sane suffered against Cardiff last week forced them to make the bid, as Pep Guardiola looks to increase his options for the second half of the season.

Sane has been ruled out for at least six weeks with his ankle injury, and with Gabriel Jesus also sidelined Guardiola wants another player at his disposal.
Now City have to decide whether they want to commit a huge fee for a player who may only be used as a squad player going forward.
Mahrez is understandably keen to link up with a club who are 12 points clear at the top of the league table.
And the chance to play a role in the Champions League again is also one that excites the player.
