Rugby league legend Garry Schofield set to get NAKED after Salford Red Devils defeat Castleford Tigers

GARRY Schofield admits he has got himself ‘in a silly situation’ as he faces doing a naked run through a garden!

The rugby league legend said he would strip off and dash if Salford managed to beat Castleford.

And after Gareth O’Brien’s drop goal secured a 13-12 success for the Red Devils, Schofield may soon be baring all.

“I’ve had a bit of a silly situation,” Schofield told colleagues on Radio Yorkshire as the reality of what his now faces hit home.

“I said, ‘Not a chance. Castleford all the way. Castleford by 16.’

“I was told, ‘OK, if Salford win, you’re doing a naked run in a back garden.’

“Boy, oh boy. What an absolute nightmare!”

Despite coming off second best, Schofield insists he will go through with the challenge, with it being done for charity when the weather gets a bit warmer!

He added: “Salford had a great victory and deserved to win.

“I’m going to be doing something for charity where I’m going to be naked, with a rugby ball in front of the crystals.

“So I’m going to need a size 12 rugby ball! But it’s all a bit of fun after me and my big gob, again, got me into a little bit of trouble.”

While Schofield faces paying his debt, Castleford face the prospect of no longer having the 100 per cent record that saw many tip them to go all the way to the Super League title.

But forward Grant Millington believes this defeat can prove to be a blip rather than the start of a rot.

The Australian prop said: “We held tough at times but we also played dumb.

“We didn’t play very well at all but we lost by a point. So that’s maybe a really good sign that we’ll do very well this year.

“But there’s a lot of stuff for us to work on. We’ve just got to be better.

“We played one-out rugby and straight into Salford’s hands. I’m sure there will be a lot of work for us to do during the week.”
