Ryan Giggs’ dad slams love-rat son and says he’s unfit to be new Wales manager

RYAN Giggs’ dad has revealed he is “ashamed” of his son – on the day he was announced the new manager of Wales.

Danny Wilson, 62, branded the former winger a love rat who is not fit to be the manager of the national team and he is furious that he ruined the life of his younger brother, Rhodri, 40, by sleeping with his wife.

And Ryan’s aunt, Danny’s sister, Joanna Wilson, 57, warned the Welsh players to “lock up your wives” following the appointment, adding that he was not welcome in Cardiff.

Mr Wilson, a security guard, said: “I can’t even bring myself to use his name – I refer to him as the ex-footballer.

“As the eldest he should have been watching his brother’s back – not stabbing him in it. He cheated in the worst possible way and is not man enough to apologise for it.”

The brothers were close until Rhodri discovered his famous brother had had an eight-year affair with his wife Natasha which began in 2003.

Since then Rhodri has been left homeless while former Manchester United hero Ryan has built a new career as a football pundit and coach.

Mr Wilson blasted Ryan for living a dream life while not giving a damn that his brother has been left with nothing.

He said: “I should be the proudest dad in the world, as happy as a lark by what he’s achieved – but I am ashamed of him.

“He’s put himself first and all he cares about is his TV punditry and opening swanky hotels in Manchester. Now when I see him on TV I switch off, all the family do.”

Wilson yesterday threatened to confront Giggs at the plush hotel where he was being officially unveiled as Wales manager.

He blasted: “I feel like going there and having it out with him – he’s not fit for for the job. It stinks. The Welsh team manager is someone who is respected and looked up to in society.

“He is my son and it brings me close to tears to say that my family don’t respect him and look up to him.”

And Miss Wilson, from Cardiff, who also wrote a poem slamming her nephew, added: “He (Ryan), split up the whole family, Rhodri is heartbroken, we don’t want him down here and we probably won’t stop him from getting the job but we just want to make it very uncomfortable and let him know he’s not welcome here, go back up north.

“The Welsh team should lock up their wives, the biggest reason I am doing this is because Ryan has hundreds of family in Cardiff and nobody wants him here, he caused a lot of anger.

“Rhodri, who we are all very close to is heartbroken, the whole one side of his family, none of them speak to Rhodri and at a good guess that has to do with money.

“If I saw Ryan I’d say ‘traitor, traitor, traitor’ but I never want to see him again.

“If he saw me he wouldn’t say ‘hello auntie Jo’ that’s for sure, if he saw me he would probably give me a dirty look because I have spoken the truth about him before and where once i definitely was his favourite auntie, now I’m his worst nightmare.”

Rhodri, 40, was estranged from his father for more than 20 years but turned to him for help three months ago.

He turned up at Wilson’s home, in Cardiff, in just the clothes he was wearing, asking for help and was greeted with open arms.

Rhodri has now returned to Manchester where he has landed a job in security – the same line of work as his dad, who has said the family would have “wiped the slate clean” if Ryan had done the honourable thing and said sorry to the family.

Wilson claims Ryan refused to apologise for his affair with Natasha which ended up ending his brother’s marriage.

Giggs, who won 13, Premier League winner’s medals with Man Utd, takes over from former Wales manager Chris Coleman.

He was announced as the new boss on Twitter and later presented at Hensol Castle in the Vale of Glamorgan.

Earlier today he was “so proud” to have been appointed.
