RYAN GIGGS plunged his Manchester United into more doubt by agreeing to become an ITV pundit for the rest of Euro 2016.
The long-serving legend, now deputy boss at Old Trafford, is thought unlikely to accept a lesser role once new boss Jose Mourinho names Rui Faria as his No2.
And ITV’s coverage clashes with United starting pre-season training next week.
So speculation is spiralling that Giggs, 42, is resigned to moving on.
He is still listed on United’s website as assistant coach but there have been no public statements on the matter since manager Louis van Gaal was sacked last month.
An ITV statement said: “Ryan Giggs will join the ITV Euro 2016 line up as the tournament reaches the quarter-final stage.
“Ryan will take up a role as a pundit in ITV’s Paris studio base alongside presenter Mark Pougatch, Lee Dixon, Ian Wright and others to lend his wealth of expertise and insight to the channel’s coverage of the remaining stages of the tournament.
“His first match will be ITV’s live coverage of Poland v Portugal on Thursday.”
Welshman Giggs hit 114 goals in 672 games for United.
And since 2013 he has had spells as Old Trafford player-coach, interim boss and his current but precarious position as No2.
