Sam Allardyce still listed as Sunderland boss on Twitter three days after being confirmed as England manager

SAM ALLARDYCE is still the Sunderland manager, according to his Twitter account.

While the England boss has found himself a new job, it appears he needs to be doing some appointing of his own – a new social media manager.

Three days after Big Sam was unveiled as Roy Hodgson’s replacement, Allardyce still has himself listed as the Black Cats boss in his Twitter bio.

It reads: “Manager at @SunderlandAFC & Brand Ambassador at @MyClubUK – Passionate about grassroots sports. Autobiography released October 2015”

The former Sunderland manager has clearly been so busy with the FA lately he has forgotten to make the change.

Allardyce hasn’t tweeted for nearly two weeks

Allardyce hasn't tweeted for nearly two weeks with his last tweet coming on July 12.

He wrote: "Want to say a big well done to those who graduated from @SunderlandUni last week. #HawaytheGrads"

Following Big Sam's appointment, speculation has been rife that he will hand his Sunderland saviour Jermain Defoe a recall to the England squad after the 33-year-old star hit 15 goals to keep the club in the Premier League under Allardyce last season.

Earlier this month, Allardyce tweeted: "Great to hear @IAmJermainDefoe describing @SunderlandAFC fans as ‘unbelievable’ in a recent interview! Couldn’t agree more. #HawayTheLads"

Earlier today, in his first press conference as England manager, Allardyce insisted he is "hard" enough to take on the challenge of the Three Lions.

He said: “This is not the poisoned chalice. I’m hardened over the years.

“I am here because I want the challenge, think I can make the players better and think I’m tough enough to take it.

“Bring it on lads.”
