Sebastian Vettel could be banned from the Brazil Grand Prix for telling F1 chief to “f*** off” after row with teenager Max Verstappen

SEBASTIAN VETTEL could be banned from the Brazil Grand Prix after telling Race Director Charlie Whiting to “f*** off”.

The Ferrari driver vented his frustration at the Brit after he crossed the line behind Red Bull’s pumped up teen Max Verstappen after the two tangled in the Mexico Grand Prix.

To make matters worse, Verstappen then backed Vettel into a battle with Daniel Ricciardo - leaving the four-time world champion seething.

He said over the team's radio: "Here's a message for Charlie, f***, off. Honestly, f*** off. I think I'm going to hit someone."

Vettel's comments were aired on TV and he can be punished by Whiting as he has broken article 151C of the Sporting Code and bringing the sport into disrepute.

The rules say: "Any of the following offences in addition to any offences specifically referred to previously, shall be deemed to be a breach of these rules:

"Any fraudulent conduct or any act prejudicial to the interests of any competition or to the interests of motor sport generally."

Whiting could chose to escalate the matter to the World Motorsport Council where Vettel could face up to a ban or a fine.

Verstappen was later hit with a penalty that promoted Vettel to third, yet the Dutch whizz-kid took aim at the former Red Bull driver saying he was wrong to clatter into Ricciardo and should go back to school.

He added: "It's ridiculous what Vettel did. Daniel was alongside him and he just turned into him.

"Then he is shouting and I don't know how many times he is using very bad language. I think he needs to go back to school. It's just ridiculous.

"I will speak to him. He is always frustrated. He is just a very frustrated guy."

Vettel was later handed a 10 second penalty of his own for moving under braking during a battle with Ricciardo.

The angry Australian was also furious with Vettel - and insisted he did not deserve his third place.

He said: "He did what everyone has been complaining about - moving under braking.

"He's smiling now but for me he doesn't deserve to be on the podium. He kept on closing the door under braking and in the end I had nowhere to go."
