MARCO Silva, Mauricio Pellegrino and Mark Hughes must walk if their teams slip on FA Cup banana skins this weekend, according to fans of the three struggling clubs.
An exclusive poll for SunSport by Voice of the Fans reveals once-popular Silva had 96 per cent of Watford fans believing he was doing an excellent job.
But following a run of defeats to Palace, Huddersfield, Brighton, Swansea and Manchester City just ten per cent are satisfied with the job he’s doing.
His Watford side face Bristol City at home this afternoon and after their heroics against Manchester United in the Carabao Cup, many fans at Vicarage Road may not be expecting to advance into the fourth round.
Pellegrino’s Saints travel to Fulham today and it would be no surprise to hear the away fans calling for his head if they don’t get a result at Craven Cottage.
He has absolutely zero backing according to our poll, after having a healthy 61 per cent supporting him at the start of the season.
Mark Hughes is somehow fighting on at Stoke, but he is another Premier League boss without a single fan satisfied with the job he’s doing.
He travels to Coventry, who are sitting in third place in League Two, and he knows defeat against his Midlands rivals will surely end the longest stay of execution in this season’s shocking Premier League sack race.
At the other end of the popularity charts, Rafa Benitez, Mauricio Pochettino and Chris Hughton have all enjoyed a resurgence among supporters.
Benitez is our biggest riser, with wins against Stoke and West Ham over the festive period seeing his approval rating among the Toon Army soar by 34 points to to 69 per cent.
As for fallers, it hasn’t taken long for the Goodison Park faithful’s relationship with Big Sam to sour.
His approval rating has slipped from a huge 92 per cent following his incredible start in the Everton hotseat, to a mere 45 per cent now.
Others to see their popularity slip are David Moyes at West Ham, whose results have gone up and down over Christmas, and Alan Pardew, who is still waiting for them to go up at West Brom.
Elsewhere it’s not looking great for Jose, whose popularity among United fans is at an all-time low of just 41 per cent – compared to 96 per cent in August.
Perhaps last night’s win over Derby will have helped. Perhaps not…
