Joshua was at least spared the embarrassment Farah endured after the BBC’s feed of him CUT OUT after announcing him winner.

Having already struggled to keep his son from having a tantrum during an earlier interview, the track legend was unable to speak out on his historical win straight away.

When Farah was finally able to deliver his winning speech, he told those at the event: “It is pretty amazing and hard to think about.

“I didn’t imagine I was every going to win this but I anything can happen. If you work hard you can achieve your dreams.

“I am sorry I couldn’t be there. My kid has been not well.

“I just cannot believe I have won.”
