STEVE SMITH and David Warner are set to miss out on a combined £4.5million from cricket alone after being banned for ball-tampering.
The former Australian captain and vice-captain were slapped with severe punishments from Cricket Australia for their role in the scandal in South Africa.
Cameron Bancroft – the man who tampered with the ball – was handed a nine-month ban.
All three have been sent home in disgrace from the tour of South Africa after Bancroft rubbed sandpaper on one side of the ball in order to encourage reverse swing.
Both Warner and Smith have not only been banned by Australia costing them £750,000 and £1m respectively, but also seen their IPL deals – both worth £1.3m – revoked.
All in all, the pair will miss out on around £4.5m… before taking their mega sponsorship deals into account.

On the other hand, Australia coach Darren Lehmann managed to hold onto his job, with chiefs insisting he had no clue as to the ball-tampering plot.
Warner is said to have been the ring-leader, talking Bancroft into cheating – while captain Smith failed to put the brakes on the plot.
