Stoke snap up Hull’s teen star Josh Tymon after he cancels scholarship to sign five-year Potters deal
STOKE CITY have finally completed the signing of Hull City’s 18-year-old left back Josh Tymon.
The teenager was the centre of a contract dispute with Hull, who believed they had an option of extending his contract by one year.
However the Tigers have now admitted defeat after Tymon declined a professional deal and cancelled his scholarship contract to sign a five-year-deal with the Potters.
The Tigers will now be entitled to a fee due to the youngsters age and their role in his budding career.
The England Under-20 international is a home-grown product of the Hull academy, who bagged 12 league appearances last season.
Aside from benefiting his own career, his bank balance will also reap the rewards of this transfer.
He was taking home a substandard £160-a-week as part of his scholarship deal, which would have no doubt been an element behind his decision to move.
