Strawweight newcomers Anna Elmose and Amanda Bobby Cooper set for action at UFC Belfast

TWO up-and-coming UFC women’s strawweight prospects will look to make a name for themselves in Belfast at UFC Fight Night on November 19.

Danish fighter Anna ‘Panda’ Elmose drops down to 115lbs to take on The Ultimate Fighter strawweight finalist Amanda Bobby Cooper in a battle between two divisional newcomers at the SSE Arena, with both looking to make an impact in front of the passionate Irish fight fans.

Elmose, who fights out of the same Rumble Sports gym that produced Danish welterweight star Nicolas Dalby, claimed stoppage victories in each of her first three bouts.

But things didn’t go according to plan in her Octagon debut as she was stopped in decisive fashion by Dutch kickboxing legend Germaine de Randamie at UFC Rotterdam.

It was a similar story for Cooper, who impressed en route to the final of The Ultimate Fighter, Team Joanna v Team Claudia.

But the Team Claudia prospect lost out in the finale to Tatiana Suarez’s suffocating ground skills as she fell to a submission defeat.

UFC Belfast represents Cooper’s first bout since completing the TUF competition, and she’ll be keen to get her UFC career off and running with her first official Octagon win.

But with Elmose also hunting her maiden UFC victory fans can expect a lively contest between two up-and-coming talents in the UFC’s growing 115lb strawweight division.
