SUNDERLAND have made the purr-fect appointment to their board… Samson the Cat!
Fans on Wearside have been feline good since Stewart Donald’s takeover.

And a fur-miliar face has now been brought back to the Stadium of Light as managing director.
Lifelong Sunderland supporter Tony Davison used to dress up as a cat in his role as club mascot before going on to have a successful marketing and commercial career.
And Donald has clawed Davison away from his senior role at Tottenham in what fans hope will be a paw-sitive move.
It adds real meow factor on the day Donald named Jack Ross as manager.

The 41-year-old – Scottish Manager of the Year award after guiding St Mirren to the Championship title – will earn £350,000 a year, FIVE times his salary in Scotland.
Ross has taken the job rather than wait to hear on his application for the Ipswich job.

Ross said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to take charge of an incredible football club.
“If you look the history, the facilities and, most important of all, the fanbase, you can see what this club can be.
“There’s a lot of work to be done in re-shaping the squad to ensure that we hit the ground running in League One, and I can’t wait to get started.”
