SUNDERLAND owner Stewart Donald is bringing in old Eastleigh pal Richard Hill as his new director of football.
Donald has Hill at the helm of his National League club and wants him to work with first team coach Jack Ross, who has been confirmed as new boss today.

Hill is an experienced operator and former player.
He will bring his knowhow to the new team, taking over a lot of duties done by Martin Bain who was axed in the shake-up.
And Hill will also be responsible for signings.
He takes over from chief scout Neale McDermott who was sacked after revealing his target list to Donald and his staff.

Donald is also bringing in former player Kevin Ball to look after the academy after Jimmy Sinclair, a David Moyes appointment, also left yesterday.
St Mirren boss Ross is bringing two backroom staff with him.

He was also a target for Ipswich but they have not matched Sunderland’s offer.
The major difference between the two packages he was offered was the size of the pay off. He picks up more from Sunderland if it goes wrong and he is fired.
