Match stats

Swansea have not beaten Manchester City since a 1-0 home triumph back in the 2011/12 campaign. Last season the game at the Liberty Stadium ended 1-1. Kelechi Iheanacho gave Manchester City a fifth minute lead, but Andre Ayew, now of West Ham, equalised on the stroke of half-time.

It will be the 32nd time the teams have met in all competitions, Manchester City winning 20, Swansea seven, and four draws.

What they said

Speaking after losing to City in their EFL Cup game, Swansea boss Guidolin said: "Saturday against Manchester City will be more difficult than this (EFL Cup tie). They had a very good team, even if they played without some players, but on Saturday there will be new important players here.

"But we have to prepare a good game and we have to play well, and then we will see.

"The performance of my team for me was good - in the first half and the second half - but sometimes little things go against you, and in this case it was a deflection on the first goal."

Manchester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho has been full of praise for how things have started under the Guardiola regime.

"Pep Guardiola is the best manager in the world. He has had incredible success in Spain and in Germany and I think he is going to do the same thing in England.

"Working under him is a great privilege and we are all learning a lot from him. I’m looking forward to working with him for a long time.
