The FA have charged Premier League clubs Sunderland and Bournemouth following their clash at the Stadium of Light for failing to control their players
SUNDERLAND and Bournemouth have both been charged by the FA following an altercation at the Stadium of Light during Saturday’s clash.
The Black Cats and the Cherries have been charged with failing to control their players in the second half after Fabio Borini caught Lewis Cook with a lunging tackle.
Tempers flared from both sets of players after the challenge in the 76th minute, before Borini and Bournemouth midfielder Harry Arter were booked by Stuart Attwell.
A statement from the Football Association said: “It is alleged that in or around the 76th minute of the fixture, the clubs failed to ensure that their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion.”
“They have until 6pm on 5 May 2017 to respond to the charge.”

David Moyes’ side lost 1-0 as they succumbed to an 88th-minute winner from Josh King that gifted Eddie Howe’s men the three points that lifted them up into the top of half of the Premier League table into tenth spot.
In contrast, the result condemned the North East club to relegation to the Sky Bet Championship with four games left to play in the top flight.
Moyes is set to quit as boss following their disastrous campaign as they sit rock bottom in 20th spot.
