The Story of UFC 205: Relive the behind-the-scenes action from an historic week in New York

UFC 205 was an historic event at an historic venue, as Madison Square Garden played host to the biggest UFC event of all time.

Conor McGregor made history of his own on November 12, stopping Eddie Alvarez in the second round to become the first simultaneous two-weight world champion in UFC history.

A record-breaking night saw the UFC’s US attendance record – and the Madison Square Garden gate record – smashed as the stars of the UFC put on a night to remember in New York City.

And fight week itself proved to be a real rollercoaster ride, from Conor McGregor’s jump shot at the open workouts to his belt-stealing, chair-wielding antics at the press conference, to the wild scenes at the ceremonial weigh-ins.

There was even a shock appearance by returning former women’s bantamweight champion ‘Rowdy’ Ronda Rousey.

Relive the action, as captured through the lens of  Simon’s video camera and mobile phone, plus additional pics shot by SunSport’s MMA photographer Per Haljestam, in this special video blog.
