ENGLAND hero Eric Dier is the new Golden Balls after landing himself the nickname ‘Becks’.
The Tottenham man spanked home a brilliant free-kick for England in their opening match of Euro 2016 match with Russia.
The 73-rd minute opener almost gave Roy Hodgson’s side the dream start before they were pegged back in injury time and forced to settle for a 1-1 draw.
And Spurs defender Kyle Walker – who is having a brilliant tournament of his own and was voted Man of the Match in the Wales win – has revealed the stunning pet-piece earned his team-mate a glamorous moniker.
Walker said: “We’re all doing great. I keep calling Eric ‘Becks’ for some banter. He’s secretly buzzing with that one!”
“It’s always good to be voted Man of the Match because it shows the work you are putting in on the pitch is getting recognised.

Injuries robbed Walker of the chance to appear at England’s two major tournaments but he is making up for it this summer in spades.
After defeating Gareth Bale’s side – and getting huge praise from Ex-England and Manchester United man Rio Ferdinand – Walker posted a photo online of him overcome after the amazing last-minute win.
He said: “I feel good. I’m just happy that I have finally got to a major tournament after missing the last two with unlucky injuries.
“What a great moment that was for the team. I thought we deserved the win and it showed the togetherness of the squad as well.”
