Tottenham eye £65m double raid for Ryan Bertrand and Alfie Mawson

TOTTENHAM are planning a £65million double swoop for Ryan Bertrand and Alfie Mawson, according to reports.

The Daily Express say Swansea centre-back Mawson and Southampton left-back Bertrand are top of Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino’s list as he looks to freshen up his squad this summer.

Poch is expected to lose several players at the end of the campaign and will need to replace them and make further additions to help challenge on all fronts next season.

Full-back Danny Rose and centre-back Toby Alderweireld are wanted by Manchester United.

The Belgian defender has demanded a huge pay rise to pen a new deal at White Hart Lane and the club are expected to sell him with Chelsea and Arsenal also monitoring his situation.

Mawson, 24, has impressed at the Liberty Stadium despite the Swans battling relegation all season.

The Welsh outfit will struggle to hold on to the England Under-21 star who joined from Barnsley for £5m two years ago if they fail to beat the drop.

Swansea value the defender at around £40m, but will hope to spark a summer bidding war for the highly-rated star.

Bertrand is almost certain to depart from St Mary’s if Southampton drop into the Championship next season.

The England left-back will provide competition for Ben Davies who has been preferred to Rose for most of the current campaign.

The 28-year-old is being monitored by United, Newcastle and Wolves.

Saints would want about £25m for Bertrand, who signed a new five-year £80,000 a week deal at St Mary’s in 2016.
