Tottenham reportedly chase Marseille ace Morgan Sanson but ‘deal depends on Mauricio Pochettino’s future’

TOTTENHAM reportedly want Marseille midfielder Morgan Sanson – but only if Mauricio Pochettino stays this summer.

The Frenchman is desperate to play Champions League football and saw his hopes dashed with the 3-0 Europa League final defeat to Atletico Madrid.

And France Football claims Sanson – who scored 10 goals last season – is high on Pochettino’s radar even as he is linked with the Real Madrid job.

Their report adds that Arsenal and Chelsea have been keeping tabs on the playmaker, 23, while Sevilla have made an enquiry.

Marseille missed out on taking France’s third Champions League spot by just a point to Lyon.

And Sanson is likely to fulfil his ambitions elsewhere if a deal can be struck between the clubs.

Spurs have the overwhelming advantage in that they qualified for next season’s tournament – making it three in a row.

But Pochettino – who recently signed a new  five-year deal – could throw their plans out of the window.

The Argie tactician has long been linked with Los Blancos and was believed to be their No1 choice for next manager.

Since Zinedine Zidane’s exit, however, other names have been thrown into the mix, with SunSport revealing Jurgen Klopp had jumped to No1 candidate.

Real’s likely U-turn – which came as they realised Daniel Levy held all the cards – is a huge boost to Spurs fans – and potentially Sanson.
