GIANT parasol caused chaos in the Tour de France today as riders had to avoid the surprise object in the peloton.
The pack were in a neat order before the giant brolly landed out of nowhere, causing the riders to immediately dodge and swerve out of the way.
The piece of garden furniture awkwardly sat on its side in the centre of the road making itself an awkward obstacle.
But it then blew across the road, squeezing riders to the edge of the circuit but from the clip, riders appeared to get away unscathed.
Chris Froome managed to hold on to the yellow jersey after an otherwise ordinary stage.
But despite Froome holding onto the prestigious jersey, Marcel Kittel comfortably claimed the sixth stage.
As the other contenders bunched together on the right side of the road, Kittel burst forward around them on the left and easily created a comfortable gap allowing him to celebrate as he crossed the line.
Parasols aside, Froome was happy to take it easy, even as temperatures approached 38 degrees along the road.

“These stages don’t come along very often,” he said. “This was definitely one of the most relaxed days I’ve ever done on the Tour de France.
“I’ve always dealt with the heat I’d say better than most people. It’s the cold I normally have a problem with.”
