Watson, 52, claimed he was dragged down the street for 500 yards at 50mph as crooks stole his VW Golf.

The injured boxing hero and friend and carer Lennard Ballack also claimed they were sprayed in the face with a “noxious substance”, believed to be ammonia.

The pair spent two days in hospital as cops launched a major investigation and appealed for help from viewers on Crimewatch.

Two men were arrested and charged on Wednesday over the alleged attack in Chingford, in February.
