UFC 204: Michael Bisping vows to punch, kick, mock and hurt Dan Henderson

BRIT UFC star Michael Bisping says he is going to make a “mockery” of MMA legend Dan Henderson at their long-awaited rematch in Manchester in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The pair will clash for the Englishman’s middleweight title, in a return to the showdown that took place seven years ago at UFC 100 when the American knocked Bisping out with a trademark concussive punch.

Henderson is an icon in the sport – a 46-year-old veteran with titles in Strikeforce and Pride promotions – with wins over some of the biggest names in the game like Vitor Belfort, Fedor Emelianenko and, most recently, Hector Lombard.

But Bisping, nine years younger and in the form of his life after destroying Silva and Luke Rockhold in his last two fights, is ready to batter his opponent and dance around his beaten and bloody body in the ring.

He said: “I'm going to make an absolute mockery out of him, he's going to be a standing punchbag, he's going to be leaking from every part of his face that you can possibly imagine.

“I'm going to be too fast for him, I'm going to beat him to the punch, I'm going to make mincemeat out of him, I'm going to dance around, I'm going to kick him, I'm going to hurt this guy.

“I'm going to put on a striking clinic. People are going to see, this is Michael Bisping on a whole new level, the confidence that I've got now, the way I'm performing in the gym, is all going to be on display.

“For me the big thing I want to do is come to England as the first ever champion, defending the belt on UK soil in Manchester, sold out crowd, that is motivation enough.

“Fighting at home does bring pressure, of course it does. But I've always thrived on that.

“I know people are going to part ways with their hard earned money to support all the British talent on the card, I'm not flippant about that, it’s a responsibility.

“The fight sells itself, he earned a knockout victory over me, he's one of the sport's most legendary iconic fighters and knocked out Hector Lombard so he's still very dangerous.

“I beat Anderson Silva and then Luke Rockhold who was pound-for-pound one of the best, now I get to do Dan Henderson who is a legend in the sport.”
