UFC employees have credit cards and passports stolen after being robbed at gunpoint in Brazil


UFC staff were given a huge scare after they were robbed at gunpoint in Brazil.

The terrifying incident happened in Rio de Janeiro near the host hotel.

UFC 224 takes place on Saturday with Brazil’s Amanda Nunes headlining the event.

It remains unclear whether any fighters were involved but nobody was harmed in the attack.

Employees had their wallets, passports and phones stolen as police check through security footage.

ESPN’s Brett Okamoto spoke to UFC president Dana White who revealed: “Just spoke UFC president Dana White about an incident that apparently ongoing right now.

“White was just told several employees and others associated with UFC 224 were held up at gunpoint near the host hotel in Rio. No one hurt. Police involved now.”

According to IB Times, it was later reported and there was another armed robbery on the beach.

And American fighter Colby Covington has vowed to get his revenge when he takes on Brazilian Rafael Dos Anjos on June 9.

He wrote on Twitter: “It’s ok America. June 9th I’ll get my revenge by mugging RDA for 10 lbs of gold and all his lunch money at the United Center in Chicago.”
