Viewers convinced Paula Radcliffe’s husband called Mo Farah’s 2017 SPOTY win a ‘f****** joke’ or ‘con’

SIR MO FARAH picked up the Sports Personality of the Year award tonight and fans have been speculating about a certain response to his win.

During the BBC’s broadcast, a camera shows Paula Radcliffe’s husband’s reaction and some fans are saying he exclaimed it was a “f***ing joke”.

Viewers on Twitter were convinced Gary Lough dropped the F-bomb, with one writing: “Love Paula Radcliffe’s husband mouthing “f***ing joke” as Mo Farah wins #SPOTY. Whatever could he mean?”

Another user said: “Was that Paula Radcliffe’s husband shaking his head in disgust?! #spoty.”

It is unlikely he did say that, as Gary Lough recently became Farah’s coach, when he moved from the US back to the UK in October.

Farah’s victory was a shock, as he was a 50/1 outsider, with heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua the nailed on favourite.

The runner retired from track events this year, and teamed up with Radcliffe’s ex-coach and husband Lough to focus on marathons and road-running.

Coach Lough has a distinguished record in the sport – with his wife’s world record-winning marathon holding up for 14 years.
