IN England we’re used to bad weather interrupting play with rain and snow wreaking havoc on sport during the winter months.
But a Little League baseball tournament in Libertyville, Illinois in the USA was struck with a bizarre force of nature recently… after a tornado formed on the infield.
The local fire department uploaded the incredible video to Twitter, with the young players staying remarkably calm given the situation.
In the clip, the tiny tornado can be seen twirling away on the dusty pitch as the players watch on, waiting for it to pass.
The man filming the clip can be heard commentating on the situation, saying: “Tornado timeout.
“Yeah, it’s like a little tornado. Watch out Jack, it’s coming for you.”
At one stage, the impatient pitcher can be seen hurling the ball towards the spinning ball of dust.
The camera then pans to the sky as the swirling ball of wind is seen dancing above the field.
RUFF NIGHT Panama 0 Northern Ireland 0: Police dog invades the pitch as England’s World Cup opponents struggle
Also from the other side of the Atlantic, England’s World Cup opponents Panama stumbled to a goalless stalemate against Northern Ireland on Tuesday night.
But the highlight of an otherwise drab affair was a police dog escaping its handler and charging on to the pitch – still wearing it’s muzzle.
