Wayne Rooney rejected mega money from China to swap Manchester United for Everton

WAYNE ROONEY rejected a shedload of money to finish his career in China as he longed for more Premier League pressure.

When Manchester United wanted the ex-England striker off of his £300,000-a-week wages there were not many top clubs queuing up.

But he could have clinched a pay rise by moving his young family to Asia where former team-mate Carlos Tevez was recently earning £650k-a-week.

But the 32-year-old decided to return to his big-spending boyhood club where the demand is to make them into a Premier League force.

Rooney told the BBC: “In the summer when I was leaving Manchester United it would have been quite easy for me to go abroad.

“Go to China, go somewhere else and pick up a lot of money and see out the last few years of my career earning a lot of money.
