‘We’re coming back strong’: UFC star Danny ‘Hot Chocolate’ Roberts sends message from his hospital bed after UFC 204 war

A BATTERED and bruised Danny Roberts sent a message from his hospital bed, telling his fans: “We’re coming back strong!”

British welterweight Roberts, known to his fans as ‘Hot Chocolate’, was knocked out 20 seconds from the end of a back-and-forth war with American Mike ‘Platinum’ Perry at UFC 204 in a fight many thought he was winning on the scorecards.

Fine performance: Danny Roberts turned in an excellent display before being knocked out in the dying moments of his bout with Mike Perry

But after a huge knee and right hand ended Roberts’ hopes of victory on home soil, the happy-go-lucky Brit still managed to raise a smile from his hospital bed the morning after the fight.

“I wanna say a big thank you to everyone who came along (and) showed their support and their love. Bless up, appreciate you all,” he said in an Instagram message.

He even managed to joke about the damage he sustained in the hard-hitting contest, saying: “I will ask, if anyone’s got it, I need an elbow, I need a foot, (a) couple of eyes.

“But, like I say we move on, we move forward. I’m still on that gold chase. No one and nothing’s gonna stop us!

“2017 we’re coming back strong. Watch out, the one and only Team Chocolate, baby!”
