West Bromwich put Bournemouth striker Benik Afobe on transfer wish list


BOURNEMOUTH striker Benik Afobe is wanted by West Bromwich Albion.

But Alan Pardew’s Premier League strugglers look as though they have some hard bargaining in store.

Sky Sports report that the Cherries are not so keen to offload Afobe.

They would prefer to sell Lewis Grabban after he was recalled from a loan at Norwich City.

But they could come under pressure to release Afobe for his former club Wolves are also thought to be interested.

Afobe scored 23 goals for them before a £10million move to Bournemouth in 2016.

This season Afobe has made 17 Premier League appearances this season, but has only started five games.

He is on a list of possibilities drawn up by Baggies boss Alan Pardew.

But it seems Pardew can only spend if centre-back Jonny Evans is sold this month.

Evans is a target for Manchester City and Arsenal, and Sky Sports say he has a release clause at just £3m.

Afobe came through the academy at Arsenal and spent time on loan with a series of clubs before he was signed by Wolves in January 2015.

He has played for Huddersfield, Reading, Bolton, Millwall, Sheffield Wednesday and MK Dons.
