Chelsea are back at the London Stadium on Monday for a Premier League clash where it is hoped a ‘five-point plan’ to tackle hooliganism will avoid a repeat of the ugly scenes.
The anti-thug policy includes giving stewards hand-held cameras to film troublemakers, widening segregation areas between rival fans, higher physical barriers between home and away sections and blocking off exit routes after the game to keep rival factions apart.
West Ham have largely curbed hooliganism inside their 57,000-seater ground since the 2-1 win on October 26, but police are still giving the game the highest possible security category.
Both sets of supporters threw missiles — including seats, coins and bottles — at each other towards the end of the game and there were seven arrests on the night.
West Ham’s banning orders range from indefinite to a few months and they are still pursuing other culprits
