West Ham, Burnley and Wolves reportedly eyeing deal for Craig Dawson if West Brom are relegated from Premier League

CRAIG DAWSON can expect a posse of Premier League clubs to chase him if West Bromwich are relegated to the Championship.

For Burnley, Wolves and West Ham are all watching the situation and are ready to pounce.

The Baggies have come good lately with wins over Manchester United and Newcastle United under caretaker boss Darren Moore, who has inspired a four-match unbeaten run.

Even so, they are still five points shy of safety with only two games left so are almost certain to go down.

Dawson, 27, has been a revelation since moving to the centre of defence and has enjoyed a better record than Jonny Evans before he lost his place.

It seems Burnley boss Sean Dyche is particularly keen admirer on Dawson as he looks to strengthen his squad next season.

Dawson, signed from Rochdale in 2010, has made 165 goals for West Bromwich, scoring 12 goals.

He can also play at full back and is versatile and Hawthorns bosses are bracing themselves for a series of bids.

BBC pundit Garth Crooks was fulsome in his praise of Dawson’s performance in the 1-0 win at Newcastle on Saturday.

He said: “”I thought Dawson and Ahmed Hegazi were immense at Newcastle.

“When are players going to realise that there is nothing they can do on a football pitch that we cannot see?”

The frustrating thing is that West Brom’s current form did not come sooner when they had a much better chance of avoiding the drop.

As it is they go into their games with Tottenham and Crystal Palace knowing that two wins may still not be enough to stay up.
