CHRIS WOOD will be looking to win his first green jacket at The Masters this year.

The English golfer will tee off at 6.08pm in Augusta as he looks to overcome the severe weather conditions that saw yesterday’s par 3 curtain-raiser cancelled.

Wood is a professional English golfer born in Bristol in 1987.

The home-grown star, 29, will be competing in his third Masters event in 2017.

England’s Wood turned pro in 2008 and was awarded the Rookie of the Year award on the back of a stunning debut season – an award previously won by star names such as Ian Poulter, Sergio Garcia and Colin Montgomerie.

Wood has won four tournaments in his career, including three on the European Tour.

The Englishman has won the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters, the Lyoness Open and the BMW PGA Championship.

On top of that, he won the Thailand Open on the OneAsia Tour back in 2012.

Wood qualified for the Masters in Augusta based on his world ranking.

For the major event in the US, a top-50 spot at the end of the year preceding the tournament automatically entitles you to a spot in the 90-strong field of entrants.

While Wood has slipped to No55 in the world, he ended the year in 39th.
