CONOR McGregor dominated the UFC 205 press conference at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night.
And surprisingly the Dubliner’s most memorable moment didn’t involve his upcoming opponent in New York on November 12, Eddie Alvarez.
WIthering put-down: Conor McGregor put Jeremy Stephens in his place[/caption]
McGregor’s best put-down of the night came when featherweight contender Jeremy ‘Lil Heathen’ Stephens piped up and said that he was the man to take the UFC featherweight title off the Dubliner’s hands.
“Right here! The hardest-hitting 145-pounder. The real hardest-hitting 145er, right here!” he declared.

“This guy TKO’s people. When I knock people out they don’t f*****g move.”
But his attempt at building any kind of rivalry with McGregor was instantly shot down by the featherweight champion’s best line of the night.
“Who the f**k is THAT GUY?” he asked, incredulously.
It sent the crowd into fits of laughter, while the other fighters on the stage tried to stifle laughs of their own at the most amusing moment of the entire press conference.
Intense competitor: Jeremy Stephens will look to score a huge win over former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar at UFC 205[/caption]
Stephens and McGregor are both scheduled for action at UFC 205, with ‘Lil Heathen’ set to face former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar, while ‘The Notorious’ one will step into the cage to bid for history when he takes on lightweight champion Alvarez in the night’s main event.
And if their brief verbal skirmish is anything to go by, it’s unlikely we’ll see McGregor v Stephens anytime soon.
