Why did Mo Farah not attend BBC Sports Personality of the Year, and how many children does he have?

SIR MO FARAH topped off an incredible year by being winning the BBC Sports Personality of the Year tonight.

But he was not in attendance at the big do in Liverpool, and was instead shown on a live TV link-up from London – although the feed embarrassingly cut out when he was about to make his speech.

Why was Mo Farah not at BBC SPOTY?

Sir Mo was not in Liverpool for a very specific reason.

He was looking after his children – twins Aisha and Amani – born shortly after his twin triumph at London 2012, Hussein – born in 2015, plus step-daughter Rhianna.

Farah said before the event: “My family and I are in the middle of moving back to the UK right now and I’m looking after all four of the kids this weekend while my wife Tania is back in the US packing up the last of our stuff.

MRS MO Who is Mo Farah’s wife Tania, and how many children do the couple have?

“Our girls have just started their new school in London, so we’re staying close to home to help them all settle into their new life.

“I [and possibly the kids] will be on a live link-up from London, so we’ll definitely still be a part of the show.”
