A SPECTATOR collapsed in the crowd during a dramatic first-set tie break in the first of the men’s semi-finals at Wimbledon.
Andy Murray’s conqueror Sam Querrey was facing fellow big server Marin Cilic with the breaker poised at 6-6 on Centre Court.
With the set in the balance, there was a disturbance in the crowd at a vital moment for the players.
And a woman appeared in trouble and in urgent need of medical attention.
The umpire James Keothavong was immediately on the phone, with players called back to their chairs.
She was then led down the steps by Wimbo staff so she could receive treatment.
After a few minutes there was some gentle applause as play got back under way.
American giant Querrey then held his nerve to clinch the next two points and the first set.
