Winter Olympics 2018: Ivanka Trump watches on as Games come to an end with spectacular closing ceremony

TEAM GB said goodbye to the Winter Olympics in a colourful extravaganza after securing a record-haul of medals.

The Brits, led out by bronze medal winning big air snowboarder Billy Morgan as flag bearer, walked around the Pyeonchang Olympic Stadium.

And they were watched on by US president Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka — who was sat just in front of the representative of North Korea.

Ivanka is on a three day visit to the country and was in attendance for Team USA’s men’s curling team who won their first gold in the event.

Team GB came out in their classic blue jackets and were all smiles as they waved to the sold out 35,000-capacity arena.

Elise Christie was still wearing her protective boot on her right foot after injuring herself in the short track speed skating.

Christie was unable to win her first ever Olympic medal as she crashed out of two events and was disqualified in one.

But she looked in good spirits as she was helped around on the lap of honour.

The Russians were all wearing the bland grey jackets and flag with the Olympic rings on as the IOC banned them from carrying the Russian flag.

Russia was banned due to the uncovering of systematic doping during the Sochi Games four years ago.

The show included huge firework displays and choreographed skating with the theme of winter turning into spring and giving hope prominent throughout.

Youth also played a role with a 13-year-old shredding an electric guitar to ‘Winter’ from Vivaldi’s ‘Four Seasons’.
