Winter Olympics 2018: US radio host sacked for sexual remarks about 17-year-old snowboarder Chloe Kim

A US radio presenter was sacked for calling 17-year-old Winter Olympics star Chloe Kim “a little piece of hot ass” and counting down the days until her 18th birthday.

The teenage snowboarder was a topic of discussion on the Barstool Sports network on SiriusXM when Patrick Connor launched into a string of smutty remarks.

The Pyeongchang hero was called “fine as hell” and, with regards to her next birthday, Connor said: “the countdown is on”.

The shamed San Francisco Bay Area radio presenter has apologised for degrading the gold medallist but it was too little too late.

Connor said: “Yesterday in a weird attempt to make people laugh I failed.

“My comments about Chloe Kim were more than inappropriate they were lame & gross.

“I’m truly sorry Chloe.  You’ve repped our country so brilliantly.

“I apologise to my colleagues & to the listeners for being a total idiot.”

Golden girl Kim won the hearts of viewers with an emotion interview after clinching victory in the women’s halfpipe.

The snow star, the daughter of South Korean parents, did not want to cry as she had worked so hard on her make-up – as well as her boarding.

Kim said: “I was trying so hard to hold the tears back ‘cause I was like, ‘I can’t cry right now, I can’t do this, I worked so hard on my eyeliner.’”

“It’s such an honour to just represent the US in the country where my parents emigrated from.

“Just this whole process has been amazing, and this journey has been so fun and full of so many memories that I will hold on to for the rest of my life.”
