THE World Cup will see Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Neymar lock horns for the Golden Boot in Russia.
Sun Bets have the trio at the top of their top scorer market, with Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann also among the favourites.
Germany are favourites alongside Brazil to lift the prestigious trophy, but the defending champions’ most likely striker to claim the Golden Boot is Timo Werner at 16/1.
Messi is currently the favourite at 9/1 to net the most times in Russia as he looks to inspire Argentina to win his first major tournament.
Meanwhile his former Barcelona teammate Neymar is next in the running at 10/1 as he is expected to be fit for the first game after recovering from a broken metatarsal.
Ronaldo got the edge over Messi last summer by winning a major international tournament at the Euros and he will want to outshine him on this occasion too.
But French superstar Antoine Griezmann is also being backed by the bookies to be in for a shout at 12/1 with Ronaldo.
LATEST: World Cup - Top goalscorer odds
Sun Bets spokesman Tim Reynolds said: “This is likely to be the last World Cup where we will see Ronaldo and Messi at the peak of their powers.
“They will both want to leave Russia with no regrets as they target what would be a huge moment in their already stunning careers.
“But the new stars on the block know this is a chance for them to establish thems at the top level if they can stand out at the World Cup.”
