World Cup 2018 pundits: Who would win a five-a-side game between the star-studded BBC and ITV line-ups?
BOTH the BBC and ITV have unveiled their star-studded punditry teams for this summer’s World Cup in Russia.
The broadcasters have both turned to a hatful of former Premier League legends to beef up their sofas.
From Rio Ferdinand and Frank Lampard to Ian Wright and Ryan Giggs, a BBC vs ITV five-a-side showdown could prove to be a thrilling encounter.
But who would come out on top in the rush-keeper extravaganza?
Check out the full World Cup punditry squad lists below… and vote for who you’d think would come out on top.
BBC
Manager: Jurgen Klinsmann
Defenders: Rio Ferdinand, Phil Neville
Midfielder: Frank Lampard
Forwards: Alan Shearer, Gary Lineker
Subs: Didier Drogba, Jermaine Jenas, Danny Murphy, Pablo Zabaleta
A MANAGER with international pedigree and some of the best players to have ever graced the Premier League, the BBC’s squad is strong.
The only real bone of contention comes in the forward ranks when Drogba, Shearer and Lineker must fight it out for two places.
Thank goodness for rolling subs…
A back-two of Ferdinand and Neville with Frank Lamapard just in front would ensure plenty of service for the forwards, as well as defensive stability, too.

ITV
Manager: Martin O’Neill
Defenders: Gary Neville, Patrice Evra
Midfielders: Roy Keane, Ryan Giggs
Forward: Ian Wright
Subs: Lee Dixon, Slaven Bilic, Henrik Larsson
ANOTHER international boss ruling the roost and a dozens of Premier League winners’ medals on show, the ITV are just as strong as the Beeb.
Gary Neville would go up against brother Phil alongside Evra in defence – while Keane and Giggs would form a well-rounded midfield duo.
Wrighty up front would provide plenty of firepower… with Larsson coming off the bench proving a strong option.
