World Cup disgrace as Ivory Coast security ‘beat up’ Morocco coach’s daughter in tunnel
MOROCCO national coach Herve Renard had his World Cup celebrations cut short … after his daughter was beaten up in the players’ tunnel.
The former Cambridge United boss, 49, guided the Atlas Lions to next summer’s finals with a 2-0 win away to the Ivory Coast.
However Frenchman Renard was left close to tears after daughter Candide was attacked following Saturday’s game in Abidjan.
Video shows the blonde beauty clutching her head in agony as Moroccan medical staff lift her onto a stretcher and carry her to safety.
Reports in Africa claim Candide was attempting to meet her father outside the dressing-rooms after the game when she was shoved and beaten by baton-wielding security guards.
Other accounts suggest she was attacked by Ivorian fans angry at the Elephants’ failure to qualify for Russia.
Renard ironically coached the Ivory Coast side from 2014 to 2015, leading them to the 2015 African Nations Cup.
He fumed: “I don’t know how people can behave like that towards my daughter.
