SWITZERLAND, Bosnia, Estonia and Faroe Islands all managed to scarper tonight’s World Cup 2018 qualifiers with three points.
As the group stage draws to a close, the clubs are desperate to secure their spot in next year’s competition.
Haris Seferovic opened the scoring for Switzerland after just nine minutes at Skonto Stadium Riga and Latvia failed to react.
Blerim Dzemaili doubled the visitors tally, before Ricardo Rodriguez capped off the scoring with the third from the penalty spot.
Switzerland dominated throughout – boasting 22 attempts on goal, in comparison to just four from Latvia.
Bosnia thumped Gibraltar 4-0 to secure the three points with an encouraging win at Estadio Algarve Faro.
Edin Dzeko netted twice for the visitors, along with Kenan Kodro-Maksumic and Senad Lulic who made it onto the score sheet.
Bosnia enjoyed 71 per cent of possession, with the home side failing to test Bournemouth shot-stopper Asmir Begovic.
