World Darts Championship final: Phil Taylor appears to swear at somebody in crowd

PHIL TAYLOR appeared to swear at somebody in the crowd as he fought back against Rob Cross.

The veteran was three sets down in the World Darts Championship final but fought back to 3-1.

Phil Taylor celebrates his finish with a rude gesture

And after making a finish he celebrated with a middle-finger salute, which was picked up in Twitter.

Many asked who the gesture was aimed at and it appears to have been a cheeky joke with the Power’s manager Bob Anderson, who sits in the players friends and families section.

Taylor is currently 4-1 down after Cross responded to his fightback with some brilliant darts.

The pretender has looked a class apart tonight and looks set to fulfil his promise and ruin the all-time great’s retirement party.

Speaking before the match, the 27-year-old said: “I got a photo taken with him. It sounds sad now, doesn’t it? He did say to me, ‘You and me in the final at the worlds’. He is like Mystic Meg.

“I have watched Phil since I was a young boy around 12 when I fell in love with the game and we all watch Darts Gold. He is a true legend.

“I am going to play an inspiration and I need to be inspired and be ready.

“I am here to win. I need to bring my A-game. If I am right I have every chance.”
