WWE 2K18 hands-on review: Bringing out the big kid in all of us once more, the next instalment of the annual wrestling series sure does pack a punch (and a kick)

ASK anyone in their 20s or 30s and they’ll talk fondly of their love for wrestling as a child.

Even if you grew up and out of it, it was a big part of pretty much everybody’s life at some point.

WWE WK18 will be packed with stars including Universal Champion Brock Lesnar
The video game will also feature legends such as Batista

The WWE is still going strong though, with a new generation of fans from small children to this fully grown adult, enthralled every week.

That diversity is what makes this year’s instalment of 2K’s annual video game so special.

You can be an adult, out of love with the sport, not having watched for years, and still have a blast.

Or you can be a young kid, wanting to be your favourite superstar from the 75-plus roster, becoming John Cena or Roman Reigns, like you dream of.

Anyone will have a good time on WWE 2K18, with its fast-paced, brutal and addictive action.

It’s slightly slicker than last year, improving on small details to give it that extra sense of authenticity.

The Miz and wife Maryse are seen in in-game footage, which will feature all the stars entrances

Graphically it’s stunning, from smallest tattoo details to muscle definition, giving wrestlers an edge of realism.

Something apparent from the get-go of my world first hands-on time was how good star’s entrances were this year.

They’re better than you can imagine, getting you pumped up for your match from the comfort of your sofa.

Having tried out a singles match, Elimination Chamber and 10-man Royal Rumble, diversity is a huge factor of 2K18.

Local co-op matches with loads of mates around are sure to be a lure, drinking games included, of course.

Or picking up online matches against randoms from across the world with your own mini-tournament is sure to be a blast.

If you're new to the series, have no fear, it's easy to pick up and play, and practice will make you a master of the squared circle.

Seth Rollins is also the cover start of the highly-anticipated title.

WWE 2K18 is going to bring the big kid out in all of us once again.
