WWE flop Austin Aries reveals wrestling company axed him for being miserable after Wrestlemania and Extreme Rules matches

WWE flop Austin Aries claims he was axed from the wrestling company because his miserable attitude made it impossible for them to book him top matches.

The cruiserweight – real name Daniel Solwold – was a fans favourite in rival promotions Ring of Honour and TNA before the WWE deal.

And WWE followers were thrilled when he was signed up and wrestled on both their NXT show, 205 Live and then WrestleMania 33.

The 39-year-old lost two technically impressive matches to Newcastle grappler Neville – on the ‘Mania kick-off show and Extreme Rules – before being released in July.

And – speaking at a House Of Hardcore event – the freelance fighter said: “The truth behind why Austin Aries was fired isn’t because creative couldn’t find nothing for me.

“How do you not find something creative for Austin f****** Aries?

“I competed at WrestleMania 33, and I’m telling you, leading up to what should have been the biggest moment of my life, I couldn’t find an ounce of joy.

“That’s when I realised, there was something wrong with me.

“In six months, I lost my job. Relationships with people I cared about were tarnished.”
