He added: “My next destination is Manchester United.

“#iamcoming”.

Zlatan is yet to sign any formal paperwork with the club or even pass his medical.

It is not yet known how long the deal will be, or how much the striker will be paid, but he’s likely to sign one year contract, while his wages were £300,000-a-week with PSG.

Reports on social media suggest Ibrahimovic is currently travelling to Manchester with his medical and unveiling to take place on Friday.

The post received more than 40,000 likes on the Image sharing site in the first four minutes and 215,000 in the first 20 minutes.

The 34-year-old striker has been linked with a move to Old Trafford since letting his contract at Paris Saint-Germain expired at the end of June.

The striker also confirmed he will bring his personal chef to his “next destination” which is now Manchester.

A desire to play under Jose Mourinho again – the pair had worked together at Inter Milan – was key to the deal being completed.

Ibrahimovic has won 11 league titles (two more were revoked due to the Calciopoki scandal) in 15 professional seasons in four countries.

In four seasons in Ligue 1 he scored 156 goals in 180 matches in all competitions, including 50 in 51 last season.

The striker has been a hero to fans at all of his clubs, known for his egotistical and outspoken nature – and numerous tattoos.

Ibrahimovic failed to find any form during a poor Euro 2016 campaign for Sweden that saw the side eliminated at the group stage.

There had been some speculation that the striker would play at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games but he turned his back on that decision, clearing a move to Old Trafford.

Ibrahimovic becomes Mourinho’s second signing since he took over from Louis van Gaal.

The former Chelsea manager, who will return from holiday a week early to speak to Sir Alex Ferguson, secured the £30million signing of centre-back Eric Bailly last month from Villarreal.

There are also ongoing negotiations with Borussia Dortmund for Armenian play maker Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Dortmund rejected the club's first offer but a second improved bid is now under consideration.

United added an extra date to their pre-season tour in Sweden, a huge hint that Ibrahimovic would be signing.

Mourinho's men will play Galatasaray in Gothenburg in the final part of their pre-season schedule.

The club will fly out to the Far East on 19 July and Manchester United fans could first see the striker in a club strip on 22 July, when they play Dortmund in Shanghai.

There is also a pre-season game against rivals Manchester City in Beijing on 25 July, Wayne Rooney's testimonial against Everton on 3 August and the Community Shield clash with Premier League champions Leicester City on 7 August.

Manchester United's first game of the season is away to Bounremouth on 13 August.
