Rugby games are one of the popular and unique games. This game is played between two teams; each of the team is consisting with fifteen players. Each team can carry or pass or kick the ball to the end zone to score as many points as possible. The team, who is scoring greater number of points, will be declared as the winning team.

The two teams will play the game for 240 minute halves with a five minute of half time. There is one referee who is ultimately controls the match with the help of the assistance of two touch judges. There are no time outs except at the referee’s discretion where he can allow one minute for an injured player to decide whether or not to continue the game.

Each team can only allow seven replacements per game. Six of the replacements can be done at the team’s discretion and seventh for injury. Now, if any player is substituted, he cannot able to rejoin the game. Only the player can rejoin the game if he was temporarily substituted for a blood injury but the player should return within ten minutes of the substitution or be permanently replaced.

Methods of Scoring in the Game:

The game begins from the center of the field. The team with the ball makes strong effort to score once the ball is in play. A team will only be scored when a player touches the ball to the ground in the opponent’s in-goal. The team will then award 5 points. After a try is scored, the team is given the options to score a goal by kicking the ball over the opponent’s cross-bar and in between the goal posts, scoring an additional two points that is also known as conversion points. The ball must be placed or kicked from a line perpendicular to where the ball was touched down. If the opposing team commits a penalty at any time, the opposite team can attempt a penalty kick for three points either t the goal or a drop kick at the goal from any place in the field of game.

During the game, the players can only move forwards towards the goal, however the ball cannot be passed forward. The ball always has to pass backwards to his teammates while moving forward.
