There is also team news from Europe’s premier international competition as Scotland, France and Italy named their squads for the upcoming contests.

What’s in the news

In Super Rugby, the Reds, Blues, Rebels and Highlanders all named their teams for the games which take place on Friday.

Meanwhile, in the northern hemisphere, Ulster received a boost as Jacob Stockdale signed a new contract and Edinburgh saw Matt Scott agree a deal to return to Scotland from Gloucester.

What’s on TV

The Six Nations returns this weekend with the BBC showing the France-Italy and Scotland-England contests, while ITV has Ireland against Wales.

There’s a full round of Super Rugby fixtures and Sky Sports will broadcast all seven matches. They also have the women’s Six Nations clash between Scotland and England, as well as the Munster-Glasgow PRO14 game and two Top 14 encounters.

On BT Sport, the Aviva Premiership continues with them televising London Irish v Worcester and Saracens v Leicester.
