When Cooper Robb suited up for Eastern Kentucky’s basketball game against Georgia State, it may not have been in his plans to be the game’s hero.

But the basketball gods were working in Robb’s favor on Friday night. Eastern Kentucky (2–2) was trailing Georgia State by two points after Panthers’ Dwon Odom missed the second of his set of free throws with 5.4 seconds remaining in the game.

After Robb secured the rebound, he drove the basketball up to near half court when he heaved a last-second shot that didn’t even graze the rim, giving EKU the 62-61 win in dramatic fashion.

The college basketball season may be just underway but these moments sure feel a lot like March. Eastern Kentucky had only held a lead twice during the entire game and trailed GSU 43–28 at halftime. Even more, Robb—who averages 10.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game—went just 2-for-9 from the floor and 1-for-5 from three-point range for seven points and four rebounds in the win.

Yet he made the shot that mattered, giving his team a come-from-behind victory in the process.
