The seven-time all-star point guard landed awkwardly after a layup in the second quarter in Brooklyn's Game 4 loss to the Bucks.
Nets point guard Kyrie Irving will not be available for Game 5 against the Bucks after leaving Game 4 on Sunday with a right ankle sprain, Nets coach Steve Nash confirmed.
Irving made a layup with six minutes left in the first half and landed awkwardly on Giannis Antetokounmpo's foot, grabbing his ankle in pain while on the floor. He eventually walked back to the locker room under his own power.
Irving left the game with 11 points, five rebounds and two assists in 17 minutes of action before the injury. The seven-time all-star averaged 23 points, five rebounds and five assists per game in the first three games of this series.
The Nets have enjoyed the luxury of Irving's offense with James Harden's currently rehabbing a strained right hamstring he suffered in Game 1. Harden had been dealing with the injury during the regular season but returned in time for the playoffs.
He was also reportedly seen leaving the stadium wearing a walking boot and using crutches, per ESPN's Rachel Nichols. Nash also added that Irving's injury doesn't put a rush on Harden to return.
"I don't want to rush [Harden] back and jeopardize doing something worse, or making this a long-term injury."
The team also announced Harden would miss Game 5 as well.
