In Sunday afternoon’s SheBelieves Cup match between New Zealand and the U.S. women's national team, New Zealand’s Meikayla Moore pulled off an extremely rare feat.

She scored a hat trick.

But not just any hat trick.

A hat trick of own goals.

Moore, making her 50th international appearance, had a day to forget, marking her infamous trio of goals in perfect fashion: one with the left foot, one with the right and one with her head.

“She had a tough day at the office," New Zealand coach Jitka Klimkova said. "Obviously, she’s sad and disappointed, but she’s an unbelievable person and player who belongs on this team. We are all behind her in this tough moment for her.”

Moore didn't last much longer than this, taken off for a substitute five minutes prior to halftime during one of the worst-luck performances imaginable. Unfortunately for New Zealand, this put the U.S. well on the way to a 5–0 victory in Sunday’s match.
